Üks vastus, mis mul pähe tuli, on: kurbus on vaikne, rõõm on rõkkav. Aga vaikne ongi sügav. Kisendav kurbus on meeleheide, vaikne rõõm on meelerahu. Läbi kurbuse on lihtsam sügavale pääseda. Miskipärast.

Veel üks ilus pala, Ravel'i Boolerot on enam-vähem kõik korra elus kuulnud, aga siin 2.osa klaverikontserdist g-duur. Hetkel parim, mis youtube'st leidsin, on ka paremaid. Mulle eendale meeldib selline esitus kus ainult puhtalt klaver ilma orkestrita.

Sellega tuli mulle meelde kunagi mõtiskletud mõtted Nostradaamuse kurbusest. Legendi järgi oli ta peale oma transse korduvalt meelt heitnud Prantsusmaa ja inimeste tuleviku üle. Ta olevat nagu näinud tulevikus asju, mis ei teinud teda üldse rõõmsas. Siinkohal võiks aga mõelda, mida võiks üks inimene üldse näha, kui tal õnnestuks tulevikku vaadata. Kindlasti on seal rõõmu ja on ka kurbust, aga ühel hetkel jõuavad kõik asjad oma lõppu. Inimesed surevad, traditsioonid hääbuvad. Rahvused kaovad ja väärtused hääbuvad, muundudes millekski uuemaks ja teistsuguseks. Vaadates siis piisavalt kaugele tulevikku on seal kõik võõraks muutunud ja enne seda laotuvad kõige tuttava killud. Killud, mida aja tuul tasa aga kindlalt liivaks hõõrub.
See on tõde.
Kõigi ja kõige jaoks on olemas neid neelav peletis. Küsimus on vaid ajas. Rõõmus ei leia inimene seda lihtsat tõde, rõõm peidab selle. Rõõm on see, mida inimene tunneb siin ja praegu ning tulevikule mitte mõeldes. Või siis uskudes, et tulevik on tema jaoks kindel ja kestev. See usk ei muuda aga peletist olematuks. Aja hammasrattad on halastamatud ja iga rõõm saab ühel hetkel otsa. Kõik kaardinad langevad kunagi.
Selles peitub aga ka teine tõde. Teine tõde on see, kes seisab peletise ees. Kui kõik on kaduv ja kõige jaoks on olemas peletis, siis kuidas saab seal keegi üldse seista? Ometi, seal ta on. Seal ma olen ja seal oled ka sina. See teine tõde on midagi, mida saab näha vaid peletisele silma vaadates.
Elu on alati seotud hävinguga, aga rõõmus seda näha ei ole.

Selle peale jäin ma mõtlema, et kas me ehk koosnemegi suuresti unistustest. Unistustest, mis toovad meile rõõmu ja viivad elu edasi. Vahest ei vii muidugi ka. See aga, et kõik unistused hääbuvad ühel hetkel, ei tähenda ju seda, et üldse ei peaks unistama. Nii ei läheks elu üldse edasi. Unistusi on muidugi hästi erinevaid ja mõned on lihtsalt ajaraiskamine. Mulle meeldib aga väga üks ütlus, et inimene ei saa kunagi reaalsust ilma fantaasiata. Reaalsus ilma fantaasiata vajub kokku lihtsalt. Kohati küll öeldakse mõne asja kohta, et see on ju kõigest fantaasia, aga fantaasia ei paku mitte lihtsalt rõõmu, fantaasia on osa meie loomusest. Küsimus on vaid selles, et millist fantaasiat me enda loomuses näeme.
Peletise, kui hävingu sümboli, ja Elu kõrval on siis ka kolmas tõde ja see ongi fantaasia.
Seda viimast on samas lihtne pidada selleks kõige õigemaks Tõeks, öeldes sisuliselt, et minu reaalsus on see kõige reaalsem reaalsus, aga see on juba teine teema.

This is one of Tool's most amazing songs, and really sums up the entire theme of Aenima. This song is about growing, changing, and moving towards the next level of human evolution and conciousness. It's deeply rooted in Jungian theory.
Basically, it's believed that there are three levels of human evolution and each has it's form of conciousness. There's the 1st level with 44 chromosones. These are primitve people's like the aboriginies in Australia who do not percieve anything outside of themselves. They only see one large conciousness with no distinguishment between organisms. Then there's the second level with 46 chromosones. That is us. We are a chaotic disharmonic conciousness that is basically used as a stepping stone between the first and third levels. The third level is 48 chromosones. (Or 46 & 2, with 2 being the sex chromosones x & y). This is the higher level of conciousness. Our destination.
But this is where the Jungian theory comes in. It is believed that you can not reach this third level of evolution without first delving into yourself and basically cleansing your conciousness for the next jump. That's where the Shadow comes in. The shadow is basically everything about that is unseen that you are uncomfortable with or hate. This is also known as the Anima (hence the name of the CD).
The last part of the song sums all of this up...
